Second of five Tall Ship Tales that take Jack from landlocked childhood to Shipwreck Cove.
In this one, Jack discovers the ocean and finds out what a cartographer does.
All five stories are written.  I'll be posting the third one early next week.

Tall Ship Tales is my take on Jack Sparrow's backstory, with glimpses of how he might tell it himself.

The five main tales take Jack from landlocked childhood to Shipwreck Cove and are best read in sequence,  although you can dip into any of them if you don't mind having to guess how Jack got there.

Names

The baby came with the storm.  From the sound of trees thrashing outside, she could tell it was a bad one: the sort that comes once or twice in a lifetime.  But she didn’t have much attention to give it.  She wasn’t planning on going outside any time soon.

By the time the trees started snapping, she didn’t know there was an outside.
